Another Trip to Guayquil

Hello everyone! First things first I would like to say Happy birthday to my cousin Seth Ingram and my Uncle Holland Fabela! Happy birthday you two!

So this week we went down to Guayaquil for a multi-zone conference! We left Thursday at 4:00am and arrived at 9:00am. Then we were able to visit the temple and spend time getting to know the other missionaries en otro partes de Ecuador. Then Friday we had the conference from 8am until 6pm. It was such a good conference. We talked so much about what it means to have fully repented of our sins and how essential repentance is. The part that I loved the most was when my president de mission, President Santos, was telling us that when we really want to repent, it basically means we want to improve. Which is something that I have known before but what made hearing that so much more impactful was when we told us that the commandment to repent means that we are commanded to improve. And in the scriptures many times it says that without repentance we can not enter the Kingdom of God. So basically we are told in the scriptures many times that if we do not improve we can not live with God again.

That just blew my mind hearing that. And we have been working with a man whose name is William Mercedes and have been talking much about repentance and we have seen the changes in him and he tells us very often that he has seen the changes too. It is such a great feeling when we can look in the mirror, and at an old photo and be able to say that this was a different person. So I invited all of you to repent. It is a very simple thing to do however it will change your life. I know its true because I saw the effects before I left for my mission and still I am seeing such change here in Ecuador with the power of repentance, or improvement as my President de Mission told us.

Thank you all so much for the support and love you all give me! If I can do anything for you just let me know! Keep on Keeping on!

Mision Ecuador, Quayaquil Oeste

Hello everyone! This past week went by so fast! We have been searching for new people to teach and we have find 3 new people this week!

The first person es Mercedes Rodrigez. She has 50 years and loves the feelings she has when we teach her and when she went to church ayer she loved it. We are working with her to get her ready for baptism on the 18th of March.

The second es a man who has 37 years. He went to church with us too and loved learning about the Plan of Salvation and wants to keep going to church, but his work doesn’t have a set schedule so he doesn’t know if he can go next week or not. But he really loves learning about the purpose we are here and we are going to see if he will be ready for baptism the 11th of March.

The third is a family of 3. The father is a less active member but the wife and daughter are not members. We passed by last night to teach them but only the father was in the house. We spent some time with him and we wans to come back to church and get his family involved. So we are going to pass by again tomorrow and work the family!

So this morning I found something so interesting in el Libro de Mormòn durante me personal study. I wasn’t to share it with you all so if you can, grab a Book of Mormon really quick! The physical book or your phone will work great!  I was reading in 3 Nefi 6. I really love verse 14. It talks about how the church was broken with save it be for a small group of Lamanites. And what I really love what it says starting with Save it were among. (please read until the end of the verse) I love how they WOULD NOT DEPART from the true faith. And they were firm, steadfast, and immoveable. They had those three traits AND were diligent in keeping the commandments. And with this quality those Lamanites didn’t let the church fully break. And that is an example for all of us. When the world is telling us what is social acceptable and we know that it is wrong, we need to be firm, steadfast, and immovable because with total diligence in keeping the commandments we receive the blessings from the Lord. I know that to be true. I have seen the blessings in my life and know you all can too. Thank you or the support everyone! I love you all! Keep on keeping on!

Week 20!

Hello everyone! I want to start by saying HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my Aunt Shannon Ricks and my prima Ellie Buhler I love you both and hope your birthdays were great!

So this week was a little difficult but great! Elder Soto and I have searching for new people to teach and we found 2 new families to teach! Two members of one of the families went to church with us and in he other family only the dad was able to go to church with us. But all of them told us that they want to go to church next week and learn more about the gospel! SO we are going to work as hard as we can with them and invite them to get baptized! We haven’t really been having much éxito with people wanting to progress, but we have more faith that these two families will progress.

This week was really interesting in the aspect that I noticed a HUGE difference in my Spanish this week. I was able to notice the hand of God SO much this week because people can understand me so much better and I can understand them better as well! And because I noticed the hand of God more this week, I also noticed a difference in my attitude during the day and the people were more receptive when I had the better attitude. So I invite all of you this week to look for the hand of God in everything that you are doing, and I promise that if you look for it you will have more èxito in everything that you will do!

Thank you for the letters and the support everyone! I love you all! IF you every need anything, email me and I will do my best to help! Keep being great!
