Transfers! (I am sorry for the typos)

Hello everyone! I want to start this letter off by saying Happy Birthday to my Aunt Miriam VanderLinden! I hope your birthday was great!

This week we had transfers and I had to say goodbye to Elder Golpe and hello to Elder Soto! Elder Soto has been out on his mission for 21 months and has never been in Manta before. SO I get to direct the sector and introduce him to Manta! The transfers started off super early. We took Elder Golpe and the other Elders to the bus station at 2:10 this morning, ended up having to wait 2 hours out side for another bus to come for some reason, and then when we got back to the house at 5:00ish we couldn’t sleep and then we went to work at 6:30.  We finished packing Elder Golpe´s stuff up around 12:30 last night and woke up at 1:30 to get ready, so I haven’t really slept at all today but I am doing fine so far! Elder Soto has so much excitement to be working with me in Eloy Alfaro and I am so pumped for this next 6 weeks!

This past week was really great because we were able to meet a new family of 4 people (Mom, dad, and two daughters) who all have an interest in the Book of Mormon because they like to read the Bible and they were a little confused about some of the footnotes in the Bible such as Alma, Nefi, y D. y C.- So when we explained to them how the two books correlate they were so excited. The dad works a lot so we haven’t been able to teach them in 3 days but we are very excited to work with them!

A quick update on the language. I can ALMOST express my thoughts with people in one form of an other! Still so very far from fluent but ALMOST able to express myself!

This past week was a great learning opportunity for me because when I started to think that Elder Golpe could be leaving soon I was terrified because I don’t feel 100 percent ready to direct this sector with someone new, and during my personal studies a lot of the scriptures that I read were about faith and how when we have faith in Jesus Christ we have no need to fear about anything. Because with faith in Jesus Christ, we can do all things. (Moroni 7:33.) I am so grateful for the Book of Mormon and all of the help and guidance it has been giving me during my mission and I invite all of you during your trials, big or small, look for answers and guidence in the Book of Mormon. I promise that if you really look for an answer in the Book of Mormon you will always find what you need. I know it works because it has worked everyday for me for the best 4 months. Thank you all for you support and love! I hope for nothing but the best for you all! Keep on keeping on! (And read the Book of Mormon)
